The Mayor of Mijas, Josele González, accompanied by the Councillor for Employment, Laura Moreno, and representatives from the IDILIQ Foundation, the Alegria de la Huerta Association and Caritas, has announced that the town will be hosting several charity events in the coming weeks to help a two and a half year old girl with mobility problems.
Specifically, various activities have been set up, including a charity dinner to be held at the Bar Fiesta on 18 February and a trip to the Carnival in Cádiz on 25 February. All the money raised will go towards the purchase of an electric chair for the little girl, with the mayor adding that: “an account will be opened for all those who wish to help financially.”
The IDILIQ Foundation wanted to join this important cause and has made a financial donation to the family valued at 1,000 euros and has delivered an accommodation voucher for the resorts that the company has on the Costa del Sol or Tenerife, which will be used in the charity raffle. Representatives of the Mijas organisation will also be present at the charity dinner, according to the Foundation’s ambassador, Hernán Lara.
For her part, the president of the Alegria de la Huerta Association, Antonia Nuñez, expressed her gratitude to the people of Mijas who “are showing their support for this little girl who needs many things that are very expensive. Her parents are making a tremendous effort, but between all of us we are going to help this girl to have a normal life like her sister.”
