The IDILIQ Foundation recently hosted its annual gathering with the Association for People with Intellectual Disabilities of Mijas Virgen de la Peña (Adimi). This two-day event was filled with fun, food and activities arranged by Team Marina.

Juan Miguel Marcos, the president of the IDILIQ Foundation, emphasised the significance of this event within the Foundation’s calendar: “Over these two days, our guests immersed themselves in a world of fun – enjoying breakfasts, engaging with our entertainment team, and revelling in activities that brought immense joy. It’s an occasion we cherish and hope to continue for years to come.”

This eagerly anticipated event not only brings together IDILIQ volunteers, who do their best with karaoke and crafts activities but also serves as a break from the routine for everyone involved. Patricia Quero Andrade, the technical director of the Daycare unit and Occupational workshop, highlighted the profound impact of such events. “Stepping out of our daily routines, we embrace a day filled with new experiences, new faces, and a different environment. The benefits are tangible, enhancing our collective well-being,” she noted.

Melisa Ceballos, the Councillor for Social Inclusion of the Mijas City Council, also graced the event, underscoring the pivotal role of collaboration between associations and corporate entities in advancing social inclusion.

Already, both the volunteers and users of the Adimi are looking forward to the next gathering.
