The IDILIQ Foundation, in collaboration with the Association ‘La Sonrisa de un Niño’ (A Child’s Smile), recently hosted a heartwarming event at the Wyndham Grand Costa del Sol. Ukrainian children, who are currently being hosted by families in Malaga, were treated to an unforgettable day filled with joy and laughter.
Juan Miguel Marcos, the president of the IDILIQ Foundation, shared his enthusiasm: “Today, these children are our VIP guests. We’re delighted to have them here, enjoying lunch with us and spending a fun-filled day at our resort. With various games organised by our Team Marina, our goal is to ensure they have a magnificent experience that they will always remember.”
The foundation has a longstanding tradition of bringing joy to children in need from across the globe. For years, they have welcomed children from Belarus affected by the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. However, due to the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, these children are no longer able to leave their country. “We waited a couple of years in the hope that the conflict would be resolved. When it wasn’t, we decided to bring a group of children from Ukraine for the first time, specifically from the city of Odessa” explained its president, Estebina Marto.
From 10am to 5pm, the children, aged between 9 and 13, enjoyed a variety of activities. They played on the sports courts, splashed around in the swimming pool, and after a hearty meal at the resort’s restaurant, they engaged in handicrafts and video games.
This event is a testament to the IDILIQ Foundation’s unwavering commitment to solidarity and support for those in need. By providing these children with a day of happiness and unforgettable memories, the foundation continues to give hope and joy to those who need it most.
