The IDILIQ Foundation celebrated the ‘Refresh yourself with reading’ campaign, by hosting a big party at the Wyndham Grand Costa del Sol.
In partnership with Mijas Town Hall, we hosted this exciting event to reward children who completed the impressive challenge of reading 12 books over the summer. Out of 130 participants aged 6 to 14, 80 avid readers enjoyed a day packed with games, crafts, and swimming, organised by Team Marina. To top it off, they were treated to a delicious lunch to recharge.
This celebration underscores the IDILIQ Foundation’s dedication to fostering a love for reading. President Juan Miguel Marcos expressed pride in supporting reading initiatives: “We have many workers with children, and we are very aware of how important reading is for them. Also, for our guests, we have a library in our facilities with books in English and Spanish, many for children. And when the possibility of promoting reading with a fun prize was proposed to us a few years ago, we thought it was interesting and decided to join the campaign.”
Councillor for Culture, Juan Carlos Maldonado, praised the children’s effort: “Reading 12 books in the middle of summer is no easy task, and not only that, but they have also handed in summaries of what they have read and have expressed their feelings.”
Through this initiative, the IDILIQ Foundation continues to champion the benefits of reading to promote creativity, strengthen language and communication, and stimulate critical thinking.
