For the ninth consecutive year, the IDILIQ Foundation has warmly welcomed members of the Mijas Association for People with Intellectual Disabilities, “Virgen de la Peña” (ADIMI). This much-anticipated visit brought together staff and volunteers, who organised a memorable day of socialising and fun.
The day began with a delicious buffet breakfast at Zac’s Restaurant & Bar, where the highlight was hot chocolate with churros — a firm favourite among the guests. After breakfast, the group enjoyed a lively game of bingo, followed by a surprise visit from Spiderman, who handed out gifts to delighted attendees. The day concluded with one of the most anticipated activities: karaoke and dancing.
“We welcome ADIMI every year, and this time we’ve had the pleasure of hosting more than 50 members, divided into two groups. It’s a joy and a privilege to share this day with them. Seeing the smiles on their faces makes it all worthwhile,” said Juan Miguel Marcos, president of the IDILIQ Foundation.
ADIMI staff emphasised the positive impact of such initiatives on the young people, noting how it breaks their daily routine and provides them with an unforgettable experience.
Mari Francis Alarcón, Councillor for Social Inclusion at Mijas Town Council, also attended the event and expressed her gratitude to the volunteers. “What the IDILIQ Foundation does is an example for other local businesses to follow. There’s no doubt that IDILIQ’s work in the social sphere is truly commendable. They are like one big family.”
